A new style of DesmoWerx video, follow along as I strip the Ducati 848 engine bottom end in real time (allowing for camera resets and battery changes). This is similar to the Ducati 848 Evo, 1098, 1098s and 1198 engines.
This is the engine I started stripping in 2024 that had low compression in the horizontal cylinder. At this point I am aiming to get the crank out so it can go for rebalancing as it will be fitted with Wossner replacement pistons which are lighter.
When rebuilt the engine will gain new main bearings as well as freshly replated cylinders alongside the new pistons.
