Join me for a complete, step-by-step walkthrough in SolidWorks Electrical as we design the professional schematic set for an Automated Small Part Case Packer—the same challenging problem I assigned for the midterm!
This stream is designed to show you how to approach a real-world industrial control problem from start to finish, demonstrating best practices in electrical design and documentation.
What We Will Cover:
⚡ Power Distribution: Designing the One-Line Diagram and the detailed 24V DC Control Power circuit (fusing, power supply PS1, and distribution).
🧠 PLC Integration: Setting up the Allen-Bradley CompactLogix 5069 system and mapping I/O points to the 5069-IB16 and 5069-OB16 modules.
🔌 Field Device Wiring: Creating detailed schematics for all inputs (I1 - Proximity Sensor, I2 - Photo-Eye, I3-I5 - Pushbuttons) and outputs (O1/O2 - Solenoids, O4/O5 - Stack Lights).
⚙️ Motor Control: Wiring the Box Eject Motor Contactor (O3) circuit, including the critical Overload Relay (O3 OL) protection contacts.
📜 Documentation: Generating the complete Bill of Materials (BOM) using realistic Allen-Bradley part numbers and ensuring consistent Tagging.
