Perhaps the most prestigious position in the infield, third base is a position that has always been littered with superstars. Doesn’t matter which time period, doesn’t matter which league.
It makes sense, to excel at the position you need cat like reflexes and an arm to match. Reflexes and upper body strength also lend themselves well to hitting, which makes it no surprised that most of the best third baseman are also offensive superstars.
