ASP PRESENTS:
The M1941 Field Jacket. Every Marine was issued a field jacket at boot camp. By the end of the war, it got cold on the islands of Iwo Jima and Okinawa especially at night after it had rained. Several Marines in the famous Mount Suribachi flag raising photo can be seen wearing this jacket.
Besides the normal field jacket, a few sailors and Marines crafted other variations of jackets made out of other materials such as a rain poncho.
