The fifth dance theater piece of How we move Su 2023 by @waotmtv8318 and ‪ @hbmedianv on January 25th 2024 in Theater Thalia Suriname: Recht en waarheid maken vrij, contributing to Sustainable Development Goal SDG 16 Peace, justice and strong institutions on the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with input from Center for Democracy and Justice CDR.
Andy is all style dancer, model, actor, stencil artist and chef. He has been dancing since he was 13 and at the age of 16 he won the Turbo Dance Battle Award together with (F2D) Fresh to Death. In the field of dance he has represented Suriname in Brazil, Curaçao and French Guiana. He provides basic Hip Hop at Suriname Dream Art School and is involved in fun dance projects with various Surinamese dance schools. His biggest dream is to become a professional dancer. Andy's piece is about combating poverty through access to information about rights, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of access to information about rights, in particular human rights. It concerns the eighth peaceful protest over corruption in the country, organized by Bento Dinge, a well-known Surinamese activist and politician. People are silenced by those in power, which is a clear infringement of freedom. Citizens are afraid to express their opinions and society is oppressed. The people want an honest leader and all Surinamese are called upon to ensure that freedom of expression is not endangered.
