Well, the decorations are down, the lights unplugged,
The tree has wilted, and I'm a little smug.
Stockings emptied, carols spent,
Santa’s gone home and so have the visitors.

You've got your photos and your jingle bells,
I’ve got my eye-rolls and sarcastic spells.
But every year we clash and cheer,
Guess it’s Christmas—for another year!

I’m the Grinch in your Summer wonderland,
Rockin' cynical with a cold drink in hand.
You deck the halls, I mock the cheer,
But hey, honey, bring it on—another year!

You wrap the gifts with glitter shine,
I hide behind the Santa line.
You hum the tunes so sweet and bright,
I grimace at the adverts on tv each night.

You hang the stockings, I unplug the tree,
We dance the dance of holiday comedy.
Love and laughter, sneers and cheer,
This odd romance—another year!

Underneath it all, there’s a spark so bright,
Your joy’s contagious, even on my darkest night.
