Hey Gang!! Pose of the Week is BACK!!
We had to take a short break from creating these short educational videos while Mark built the new website and we scrambled to launch the Movement Template online course! It's LIVE now, you can see it here:

The online course has a whole module on the Fascial System and the Fascial lines. That inspired me to make a Pose of the Week series on "activating" and "sensitizing" each line, to give you a chance to experience what a difference working with these lines can make in your practice.
We work with the Fascial Lines by using movement patterns which I call "Organizing and Activating".
These patterns help us tap into the Tensegrity Structure of our body, by Organizing the joints in positions that cause movement efficiency and stability. This makes you feel like you really "own your asana"!
Activation comes from contraction of the muscles within the Fascial Line. This adds to the stabilization of the joints within the Line and "sensitizes" the line.
What does it mean to "sensitize"? It means the "proprioceptors" within the Fascial Line, which are the "sensors" of the nervous system, become more alert and effective!
And that means the nervous system gets more of the information it needs to keep you steady, and to let you access your full range of motion!!
In this video I give you a pretty strong experience of the Superficial Back Line!! When you are first learning, it helps to have an exaggerated level of sensation, but once you have felt it like this, you'll always notice it and be able to use that Line in your practice!
