The Surprisingly Fascinating London Postal Museum (and a Ride on Mail Rail)

In this video, Jessica the Museum Guide (that’s me!) takes you on a festive guided tour through the Postal Museum in London, including a ride on the Christmas-themed Mail Rail. We start by detailing the history of the Christmas card and letters to Santa.

Then, we explore the history of the Royal Mail from its early days under Henry VIII through to Georgian stagecoaches, the RMS Titanic, the introduction of the Penny Black stamp, royal cyphers, mail during the Wars, and uniforms – and a lot more. After checking out the gift shop we cross the street to the Mail Rail attraction and go for a ride.
