7 Years of Remixes – Thank You for Being a Part of This Journey

Today marks a special milestone: May 31st, 2025
exactly seven years since I uploaded my very first remix on this channel back in 2018. Looking back, it’s hard to believe how much time has passed and how far this journey has come.

When I posted that first remix, I had no idea what would follow. It was just a passion project; something fun, simple, and nostalgic. I was heavily inspired by 8-bit and chiptune sounds, and that early remix captured the essence of what I loved most: video game music, retro vibes, and a sense of pure creativity. Over the years, that passion has only grown, and while my tools, style, and workflow have evolved, the heart behind the music has stayed the same.

To mark this 7-year anniversary, I wanted to go back to my roots. This new remix is a tribute to that original 8-bit sound though this time, it's been refined and modernised to reflect my current production quality. While 8-bit isn't the central focus anymore, you’ll find subtle nods to those retro elements throughout, blended with Japanese influences and a darker, more atmospheric tone that’s become a part of my signature sound.

This release isn’t just a remix; it’s a reflection on growth, and a celebration of how this channel has changed alongside me. Every remix I've shared has been a chapter in my creative story, and each one holds memories of the time I made it, what I was listening to, what I was learning, and what I was feeling.

What’s Coming Next
The next remix drops next week, and I’m especially excited for it. I’ll be diving into themes that I haven’t explored in a while; some that might feel a bit retro or "dated" now, and others I’ve never attempted before. I want to breathe new life into overlooked tracks and uncover hidden gems from the soundtracks we all love.

But just a quick heads-up: remix uploads will pause temporarily in September once I return to university after the summer. Balancing studies and music is always a challenge, but I’ll make sure to stay active where I can. That said, I’m already planning ahead; expect a Halloween remix and a Christmas special later in the year, both of which are already in the works and shaping up to be something special.

A Bit of Nostalgia
As a bonus, I’ve also brought back the original artwork I discovered way back in 2018 when I uploaded that first remix. This time, I’ve managed to track down a higher-quality version, and it felt fitting to include it as a tribute to where it all began. It’s crazy how one image can bring back so many memories.

Every like, comment & share helps keep this project alive. It’s your enthusiasm that keeps me motivated to try new things and revisit old favourites.

And yes I haven’t forgotten: once this channel turns 10 years old, I’ll be doing a full revisit of the Ho-Oh theme as a special anniversary remix. That track was one of the first I ever planned to tackle, and it feels only right to return to it once this channel hits double digits.
