How to Assemble the Equilibar Single Use Valve

In this video, Chris Tice, Single Use Design Technician, explains how to change out and assemble the SDO single use valve. The Class VI polymer body of the SDO valve is enclosed in a 316L stainless-steel cradle during operation. To replace the used SDO body, simply loosen the wing screws on the cradle to remove the reference cap. Remove and dispose of the old single use body and insert the new one using the easy keyway design to ensure proper orientation. Put the reference cap back on top, tighten the wing screws, apply the reference pressure and the valve is ready for use.

The Equilibar SD is a dome-loaded valve with pilot operation. This means that gas or air is fed into the top (dome) of the valve to provide the pressure setpoint for the process in a 1:1 ratio. The pressure of the gas in the dome is set by a secondary standard regulator called a pilot regulator. The pilot regulator can be manual or electronic, depending on the application’s requirements.
