Collosal Dwarfare DLC Impossible FULL Walkthrough - Kingdom Rush Alliance
In this video, I will be showcasing all the new stages on impossible mode as well as the new hero Kratoa and the new Cannoneer Squad tower.
The Collosal Dwarfare DLC comes with 5 unique stages all of which have a respectable difficulty, so some care is advisable when playing through them. The DLC consists of 2 mini-boss battles and 1 main boss batle. All of them seemed rather easy and never really posed a thread. The main difficulty lies, you guessed it, in the flying enemies. A good way to deal with them is via insta kills and when you use Rocket Gunners with tier 1 wasp missiles they will only target the flying drones leaving nothing behind. Additionaly there are 2 mini-boss type enemies, 1 of which will rush quickly towards your exit when below 400 hp. Its advisable you have some track length left or teleports to use, otherwise you wouldn`t have enough time to take him down. Hero spells are efficient for finishing them off. The other enemies pair rather nicely together with the game often trying to re-use a similar wave formation which can get stale fast and trivialised once you figure out the optimal strategy to tackle them.
The new hero Kratoa is extremely fun hero to play with, as he never can truly die. While being dead he will remain as a lava blob that will damage in the area he is above while still being able to be controlled. His hero spell is literally Rain of Fire, and we all know how cool that spell is. What surprised me was that it really lived up to the original RoF spell and is capable to eradicate most enemies in the area you selected. It deals 1200 true damage if all meteors hit and additionally Kratoa will sometimes explode in a burst of meteors each dealing 200 extra dmg + 100 burn damage. His other skills aren`t that powerful, besides his spinny tornado attack where he can deal up to 300+ area true damage.
The new tower is heavily reliant on micro and utilising it to its fullest potential can proove to be a difficult task. Its main glaring weakness is that it deals mainly physical damage so the tower seriosly struggles against armoured enemies, which this DLC has quite a lot of. Pairing it with the Eldritch Channeler prooved to be one of the best tower duos inside the game as they cover each other`s weaknesses. The tower was promised to be an answer to flying enemies but this DLC has drones with physical armour and gimmicks that make the cannoneers sub-optimal against them. Using them in any other campaign will probably yield far better results. It`s main issue is that when an enemy gets inside their melee range all of them will engage with that enemy letting fliers unaddressed. Distancing is key.
The heroics and irons this time around had a glimmer of hope, but the reality is that the irons were generally deprived of strategy with only the final stage having a decent well-thoughout iron, while the other ones were a breeze. Heroics on the other hand...I would go as far as to say that some of them were straight up unfair. Most notably the ones on stages 1, 3 and 4. The first heroic`s final wave is literally 5 mini-bosses. I don`t see a reality in which a mobile user with no premium towers/heroes will deal with it. Stage 3`s heroic I resorted to beat via Necromancer Death Rider + Grim Wraiths glitch as I`ve been frustrated by this challenge`s difficulty way too much. Stage 4`s heroic is by far the most unfair one, as you have a lane dedicated to the mini-boss and another path dedicated to only armoured enemies. Additionally fliers blend exceptionally well with the rest of the enemies, and when boosted by the anvils you can pretty much call it quids and start all over. Good luck to any mobile user out there.
Overall the stages had better re-play value than those of Ancient Hunger, but there were still some things which needed more care, mainly the bosses being both forgettable and uninteresting. I will not give a ranking out of 10 as this is purely a video description nobody reads either way, so I hope you enjoyed reading my rant. Ohh and I forgot to mention this, but the OSTs were great this time around, props to Haakon Davidsen. Stay tuned for when I do a proper review video discussing if the DLC is worth buying.
