In this video, we show the key steps of replacing the timing belt drive on the IVECO 2.3 (F1A) engine. The job includes not only installing a new belt, but also replacing all rollers and the water pump, which is crucial for proper engine operation and preventing serious failures.

One of the main challenges with this engine is that the coolant pump housing also serves as the mounting bracket for the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP). The pump itself is quite bulky, which often complicates its removal. Another difficulty is the need to remove the timing gear of the HPFP, which sits very tightly on its shaft.

To correctly set the timing marks, locking pins are used:
• the crankshaft locking pin is installed through the front cover,
• the camshaft locking pin is inserted through the timing gear.

The video demonstrates a brief and clear procedure. During this repair, it is essential to:
• align all timing marks perfectly,
• properly tension the timing belt,
• rotate the crankshaft twice after tightening all fasteners to ensure the timing system is installed correctly.
