Here's a full Asano-stamped Mikawa Nagura progression, starting with Botan and ending with Koma.
The Awasedo is an Ozuku Kita that I picked up recently, it's hard, bordering on very-hard. It's a wonderful stone for the progression and finishing also. After this session, I finished on Tomo Nagura slurry. The shave was wicked smooth, nice and close too.
The razor is an "I cut my way" William Rogers - it has a fairly stiff 1/2 hollow grind. Might be a bit heavier but not quite 1/4 hollow.
People have asked why the entire blade isn't on the stone all the time. Like many razors, this one has a warp and a smile. I tend to work on sections and tie it up with a rolling stroke. It's usually hard to see the roll because the adjustment is slight - but it's there. In one segment you can see where I lifed the blade up significantly so I could get the tip of the toe where I wanted it.
I'm self taught - this stuff is what I developed on my own over time. My technique might not be text-book pretty but when I was done that edge shaved very well - and that's all that matters.
