The first K-pop festival takes place in Brussels: we met a member of the group Blackswan (video). K-Pop, Korean pop in French, is more and more popular especially among teenagers. A first Korean festival is being held this weekend in Brussels, the Blackswan group will participate.

Her name is Fatou, she is 26 years old and comes from Tienen. "Music is happiness for me." Two years ago, this young Belgian left her native country for South Korea. She goes alone, not really knowing what to expect. "There was no plan, at all. I thought, come on, let's see. And now I'm in K-pop, so I'm happy."

Fatou becomes a model. Then quickly, the director of a label spotted her and offered to join a brand new group. Today she has become a star 9,000 km from Belgium. His group does K-pop. A popular musical style among young people. An increasingly trendy universe. “Normally, K-pop groups are made up of several people,” explains Haetal Chung, communication manager at the Korean Cultural Center in Belgium. “They don't necessarily need male or female dancers because as such they have a perfect team. Their movements, their singing, everything is really synchronized and harmonized. "

More than a style, it has become a phenomenon. In New York, K-pop group BTS shot a music video inside the UN Chamber to address the youth of the world. Result, already more than 13 million views in just 48 hours.
