The kick serve ball toss range is rather large. There are already some pretty serious graphics on the mat, so making a large target for the kick serve was problematic.
So, I placed the kick target in the classic position, landing just over head. That means that you will contact the ball while it is arcing to the left, not where the target is located.
Many pros are teaching a forward toss (to the left for a righty and to the right for a lefty). If you are a coach teaching this or a player doing this, all you need to do is visually extend the target forward to the baseline.
You'll see what I mean about too many circles and lines!
Use your imagination or mark with a piece of tape on the mat if this is your choice of ball toss location
