This is video #748 of my video posting project. I have been working on this project since November 2023--learning and posting a video of NEW piano music every. single. day!
Today's piece is "Anthem for a New America" by Jeff Lorber & Bobby Colomby. This arrangement can be found in Hal Leonard's collection of Jazz Piano Solos in the volume called "Best Smooth Jazz". This collection of jazz arrangements was written by Brent Edstrom.
This is not an easy volume--but I'm dipping my toe into "Smooth Jazz". The pieces sound "contemporary" and more contemplative. Something about this song--I really like. Beautiful melody, lovely chords, lots of grace notes and suspended chords that really spoke to me. It's nice to have peaceful songs in times of difficulty and upheaval. Hopefully this song brings you peace.
