PRI Skill # 1.5: Overcoming Resistance

In order to get off our right side (skill #1) or shift appropriately into left AF/IR (skill #2) we have to be able to overcome internal resistance provided by our own neuromuscular system. You have to overcome yourself.
Muscular restriction is necessary for normal human movement. Without resistance being provided (tone) we would have nothing to stabilize us and no base of support from which to propel ourselves forward.
Our necessary resistance, the type that builds and releases, can become problematic when the resistance builds but never releases. We develop "restriction" and that restriction has to be overcome or it will prevent us from unloading our right side or shifting into left AF/IR
