How to Make a Dandelion Salve

It is easy to make a Dandelion Salve - perfect for aching and arthritic joints - and it doesn't take long to do it. To make this salve or balm, take some beautiful, golden, Dandelion flower heads and place in a jar. Cover with the best quality olive oil that you can afford, add a small capful of vodka and leave to infuse for six weeks. Strain off and measure 8flozs into a heat proof bowl or jug and place in a bain marie or double boiler. Add 2ozs of beeswax and allow the beeswax to melt. Once it has melted into the oil, pour into small jars ready for use. If you want to, you can add a few drops of anti-inflammatory organic essential oils such as Ginger, Lavender, Black Pepper, Eucalyptus, Rosemary and others.
If you prefer not to use beeswax, try emulsifying wax or shea butter.
