Epilogue: Purpose in the Darkest Season |

Seasonal Affective Disorder touches many lives. It is a real psychological and physiological response to lack of daylight. It can be mitigated, however, like all forms of depression, by finding a personal sense of purpose. That fulfillment can make a massive difference, even if that fulfillment is years or decades away.

In 2025, after thirty years of hard work, I was finally able to build a new life for myself in the Scottish Highlands. I left my old life behind, bought a house in the Far North of Scotland, and set about creating the daily existence for myself that I'd always wanted: a life of peace, filled with work I enjoy, in a land of beauty.
