When wildfires cross borders, so does the response.
CAL FIRE and Mexico operate under a long-standing cooper
ative agreement that allows them to support one another during major incidents. Each year, CAL FIRE provides two weeks of training in Mexico to ensure firefighters on both sides of the border use the same strategies, tactics, and tools.
This partnership was most recently put into action during the Guadalajara 2 Complex which ignited in July 2025 - where CAL FIRE deployed resources to help protect communities and infrastructure in Baja California.
Strong coordination. Shared training. One mission: protect lives and propert.
