Waypoint 14 - Active Seep | SOI Divestream 889

During this dive in the Malvinas Basin area, we will explore geomorphologies associated with fluid seepage, that were previously acoustically described by part of the science team. The study area will cover water depths between 600
and 700 m, where the ROV SuBastian and other science equipment in the ship will be used to conduct detailed studies of the influence of methane on hydrographic, biogeochemical, sedimentological, and biological properties.

Durante esta inmersión en el área de la Cuenca Malvinas, exploraremos geomorfologías asociadas a la filtración de fluidos, previamente descritas acústicamente por parte del equipo científico. El área de estudio abarcará profundidades de entre 600 y 700 m, donde el ROV SuBastian y otros equipos científicos a bordo del buque serán utilizados para llevar a cabo estudios
detallados sobre la influencia del metano en las propiedades hidrográficas, biogeoquímicas, sedimentológicas y biológicas.
