Schiavona's are normally found in straight broadsword form, but there are a small number of curved blade examples, as this was based on. It was by Swordsmithy (currently out of production). It is facing an English basket hilt backsword by Darkwood Armoury. Both of these swords are of realistic weight and handling characteristics. One of the styles we practice at the club is broadsword/sabre from the late 18th and early 19th century, and so the techniques used are predominately based on that.
