The Welsh Highland Railway is a 25 mile long, 1ft 11.5in narrow gauge heritage railway within the Snowdonia National Park, running between Porthmadog and Caernarfon.
Running via Rhyd Ddu and Beddgelert, the line skirts the foothills of Snowdon, before descending towards the coast at Porthmadog.
Our visit in September 2024 coincided with the annual Super Power Weekend, featuring an intensive timetable across the route.
In this second part, we rejoin the train at Caernarfon, heading up towards Dinas where we pass K1 on a short service, and newly restored 134 on footplate rides. Continuing on to Waunfawr, we pass 130 on a mixed service, before passing 87 at Rhyd Ddu on the Snowdonian, the counterpart to the Harbourmaster we were on.
