● ABOUT THIS SONG: Released in 1980, the song "Crazy Train" explores themes of fear, anxiety, and- initially, at least- the anxieties of the Cold War era. However, it's ironic (or perhaps a bit of history repeating itself) just how relatable these lyrics remain in TODAY'S very strange times!
Although often misinterpreted as simply about being mad, or going insane, in actuality the lyrics reflect the fear of nuclear annihilation during very uncertain times. "Mental wounds not healing" exemplify that high level of stress and anxiety caused by forces often beyond our control.
This tune is definitely stepping "far outta' the box" for me, which of course I realize. However, I thought these lyrics simply far to relatable in today's world not to make them heard all over again (or perhaps for the first time) by others, just like myself.
