This storm on the Pacific Crest Trail caused a chain reaction of forest fires in Northern California and Oregon, literally closing the entire trail I'd just hiked behind me.
In Episode 5 of my PCT walkthrough series, I take you from Three Sistsers to the Mount Hood.
The storm displaced hundreds of hikers who started at the Mexican border up to Cascade locks due to the McKinney forest fire which wiped out thousands of acres of natural habitat.
Watch along for hard hiking lessons from the train and amazing natural beauty.
