Coronary artery disease (CAD) is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The foundation of its treatment includes lifestyle modifications and pharmacotherapy. However, for patients with significant obstruction or symptoms, revascularization is required to optimize treatment and even save lives.
The two main revascularization methods practised today are percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). How do we decide which method is better for our patients?
In the Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) on 21 November, Dr Stanley Chia, Interventional Cardiologist, shared his perspective on how we can empower our patients to make this major decision in their treatment plan.
