I found these two spray guns at my local metal recycling yard and thought they could still be useful. Naturally, I tried my best to make them work again.
The spray gun evolved from a 19th-century medical atomizer invented by Dr. Allen DeVilbiss to apply throat medicine, with his son Thomas adapting it for painting around 1907, revolutionizing industries by enabling faster, more uniform application of coatings for furniture and cars, significantly cutting drying times from weeks to hours, and leading to modern high-efficiency (HVLP) and electrostatic designs for better transfer and less waste.
