It’s been a busy and exciting week following my time at Commsverse! I had a great experience delivering my talk on declarative agents and catching up on lots of other engaging sessions.

Visual Studio’s Agent Mode has officially gone GA, around a month after entering preview. Users can now switch between traditional “Ask Mode” and the more autonomous “Agent Mode,” which integrates seamlessly with MCP (Microsoft Copilot Plugin) servers.

The rise of MCP servers continues, now powering both Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code, enabling deeper personalization and operational flexibility when using generative AI. GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code has also embraced these integrations, offering a rich ecosystem of plugins ranging from Figma to Notion, Jira, Asana, and Azure DevOps.

I took a look at the potential friction in managing multiple MCP servers—while useful right now, we may eventually need a more user-friendly clearinghouse-like system for seamless agent interaction.

Big shoutout to Waldek Mastykarz for a super helpful update to Dev Proxy, which now supports mocking Microsoft Graph API calls. This is huge for enterprise and ISV-level testing—and even better for demos thanks to predictable, fast responses.
