Orson Welles' adaptation of Franz Kafka's "The Trial" may be his most focused work of genius - every frame, performance, and movement is dedicated to presenting a nightmare world of bureaucracy, paranoia, and oppression. The Director's Club looks at how Welles illiminated and changed elements of Kafka's story, the many brilliant ways he evokes the absurdity Josef K encounters in his quest to find justice or even answers to his predicament, and how this imagery compares to those in films like "Psycho" or even Tati's "PlayTime".
