Wen Rouhan was visiting Yiling when he saw a young boy being attacked by dogs he accidentally scared them off causing Wei Ying to hug his leg before running off

When Wen Rouhan arrived back at his home he sent out orders for the small boy
to be found and brought to him unharmed, it wasn’t long until he saw the boy once more. Wei Ying was practically in hysterics when he arrived in front of him, he was scared and trying to escape, that was when Wen Rouhan saw how powerful the small boys spiritual core was already, he knew then that he needed the boy on his side.

Wei Ying was introduced to Wen Xu and
Wen Chao by Wen Rouhan as their
adopted younger brother. At first the pair didn’t like WY as he had taken all their fathers little attention, but they soon became close and cherished him.

Wen Ning and Wen Qing met Wei Ying when he came to train with the other kids, he quickly became the strongest in the group much to WR and WX amusement.

At age 16 Wen Ying started to learn demonic cultivation, WR had seen how evil spirits found WY instead of the other way and suspected he’d be skilled in demonic cultivation. The other clans caught wind of these lessons from their spies planted within the Clan.

The cultivation world bands together out of fear of WR and WY, and started putting rules in place to ‘protect’ them. However some were not satisfied by that, they wanted a war, so they made one.

Wen Ying was thrown into the burial mounds, this caused the Wen sect to fight back in fury.

When Wen Ying finally made it out of the burial mounds he went to the battle and forced the other clans to retreat.

Wen Rouhan saw how weak Wen Ying was looking so he sent him away with Wen Ning and Wen Qing so he could get stronger and heal

Some elders were taken hostage and the clans ordered that the Wens give up Wen Ying, Wen Quin and Wen Ning in exchange (WQ puts WY to sleep and they head for Lanling)

WY wakes up earlier than intended and rushed to Lanling taking all the shortcuts and not taking a rest, he managed to stop them

They head back to report to WR, they start to seriously fight back, they win, not much changes in the cultivation world other than laws and hierarchy

Wen Yuans parents are some of the losses of the war, WY takes him in and raises him
