Ed Gein? Edvard Munch? I was trying to create my take on shrunken apple heads, when I realized sculpting in dough might be easier than carving. With my favorite fondant sculpting tool in hand, I was transported to my Play Doh glory days! I love how each face has their own personality--of agony? Sorrow? Or surprise? Or maybe they're just yawning in ennui. 🥳🥳🥳
Just in time for Halloween...these baked apples are not too sweet (you can always add more syrup or sprinkle the base dough with sugar if you like a sweeter bite! Or just grab one of your kids' Halloween candies, heh), these were right up my cold, dark alley!
