The Batman that arrived in theaters a couple weeks back was co-written and directed by Matt Reeves, but originally the final was going to be written and directed by Oscar winning storyteller Ben Affleck.

But this wasn’t the first time a Batman film almost happened and then fell apart. This has been happening for over 50 years. So in this 3 part series we’ll be looking at each of the cancelled Batman movies. What was the movie going to be about, who was cast, and why did it fall apart?
