WEATHER DIVERSIONS at Champaign Willard Airport *Tornadoes in Chicago*

Tornado warnings hit the Chicago area on May 25th, 2022, thus resulting in various inbound flights to O'Hare being diverted elsewhere. Some airports that received diversions were Rockford (RFD), Peoria (PIA), Milwaukee (MKE), and us here in Champaign (CMI). Usually when weather hits Chicago, Champaign will receive maximum three diversions and that's what happened here. Sadly, we don't get anything larger than the American E175 (and we never get any non-American diversions either). Anyway, it was cool to finally capture this rather rare scenario here.

Aircraft Included:
American Eagle ERJ145 (N675AE) diverted while flying CID-ORD
American Eagle ERJ145 (N931AE) was flying from CMI-ORD but then TURNED AROUND and came right back due to the severe weather.
American Eagle E175 (N245NN) diverted while flying SAT-ORD.

The E175 ended up staying overnight because I believe the crew timed out. In other words, they exceeded their max legal flying hours that day and thus were required to spend the night. No idea what the passengers received in terms of compensation.
