Imperial troops might actually be some of the easiest to paint, by and large, despite white's reputation for being finicky or difficult. Especially working from a very light primer!
Most of these colours from the Army Painter's Speedpaint range have similar enough variations from Citadel's Contrast that you should be able to follow along without difficulty. The results will look ever so slightly different once you're finished, but there's no real problem there!
