It used to be the most challenging and treacherous section of the Hillsborough RIver, but, no more. From Sargeant Park it's now a beautiful 4.7 miles to Dead River Park, a total of 9.5 miles round-trip. Eat your Wheaties, the river has a nice, strong current! Note that Dead River park only has one very small spot where you can beach your kayak, and there is no access to that park with vehicles (= no launch). That spot is also quite popular with the local gators :)
