Residents across Wolverhampton say they are 'struggling to breathe' after a huge fire has broken out at a factory.
At around 7.30am today (Wednesday, January 17), locals across Blakenhall said they heard "explosions" followed by the sound of sirens "coming from every direction", reports The Mirror.
The inferno, coming from a factory on Sunbeam Street, has sent thick black plumes of smoke into the sky as one man who lives nearby told Birmingham Live how he's struggling to breathe.
"The area is full of smoke. It’s hard to breathe," Dave Bennett said.
The fire service confirmed eight engines raced to the scene this morning where they continue to battle the blaze.
Images of the extent of the fire have since been circulating on social media, showing thick smoke engulfing the air.
While the West Midlands Fire Service is warning residents to avoid the area and close windows and doors, there are fears of a "major toxic incident".
