They say that a person never gets tired of looking at fire and water. Both of them captivate with their power and unpredictability. Port Campbell, The Great Ocean Road in Australia provides a magnificent place to observe the elemental force of the ocean water. This is where the waves are unrestricted by any other landmass and thus crash onto the shore with all their might.
The height of the waves can be several meters high. This depends on various factors, including the strength of the wind. Such a wave can knock you off your feet (at best) or, in the case of a backwash, carry you into the ocean even if you step into the water just above your knees or just stand near the water on the shore.
Swimming is extremely dangerous and not recommended during such wave intensity. It's better to observe the fury of the ocean from a respectful distance, as I did in this video.
