Marseille France A Cruise Day Visit 2024
In August 2024, we were on a cruise that docked in Marseille for a one-day stop. We walked a kilometer to the free shuttle bus which dropped us in what was called a central shopping area. We walked the area, stopped at an open-air market, viewed some sites and bought tickets for a 24-hour Hop-on Hop-off bus tour. We toured the city's sites, met some other travelers, and had a nice time.
We were on a relatively short time frame because we had to re-board the ship by late afternoon so we did not have time for a leisurely lunch or prolonged site visits. We now wonder if it might be more rewarding if cruise lines visited fewer cities and spent more time in each port. We would like that but it is not too common.
