Description: A WKY-TV news reporter asks several Oklahomans whether they are in favor of or opposed to the 1962 bond issue and why or why not. Representatives speaking on behalf of Will Rogers Air Field, the water and police departments, civil defense, streets and sewers, and the Oklahoma City Zoo explain how the bond money will be used to serve new industries and promote development in each respective area. The $47.4 million bond was to be used for streets and right-of-ways, traffic control, airports, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, water systems, parks, events facilities, and civil defense. J. Leland Gourley, the chairman of the bond campaign, is interviewed. Gourley responds to questions regarding the duration of time it will take to complete projects covered by the bond, why revenue bonds are not being used for the convention facility, whether City Hall can handle the load of all the proposed projects, how much it will cost tax payers, what happens if the bond does not pass, and whether a citizens group will be formed to ensure the bond money is spent properly. The bond issues passed in November 1962.
