54 Porch Railing, Bathroom Light & Garage Door Progress - One Woman Renovation - Zen Build

This week’s Zen Build was full of satisfying progress across a bunch of different projects. I painted the upstairs bathroom where I finished the drywall last week, got the mirror up, and tried to install the light fixture—but the universal mounting bracket just isn’t lining up yet.
Out in the garage, I finished washing the fence boards I’ll be using to cover the door, cut the center line, and redid the window trim. Unfortunately, the glass broke during the process (never fun), but I’ll circle back to that later.
The porch railing came together beautifully—I cut and installed the hog wire panels, set a post for the stair railing, and finally got that tricky angle figured out after reinstalling it a couple of times. The porch is really starting to shine!
I also cleaned and stained the chest, finished weaving the last stool seat, and moved some furniture to clear more workspace. Vayla was extra adorable during her morning snuggles, which helped keep things balanced through the chaos.
To wrap it up, I fixed the porch railing alignment, mowed the lawn, adjusted the side garage door, and added a new knob. Slowly but surely, everything’s coming together on this live-in flip.
