The Original Chocolate Lovers Delight Recipe! (Revealed)
CHOCOLATE LOVER’S DELIGHT
1 pkg. Famous brand chocolate wafers, crushed
1/3 cup butter, melted
2 T. sugar
1⁄2 gallon pralines and cream or butter toffee ice cream
1 large jar Hershey’s fudge topping (or homemade or Mrs. Richardson’s)
Sweetened whipped cream
Sliced toasted almonds
Prepare a glass 9x13 Pyrex dish by spraying Pam or other non-stick cooking spray. Make crust by crushing wafers in a Ziploc bag and crushing with a marble rolling pin or mallet, until finely crushed. Mix crumbs with melted butter and sugar. Press into glass dish and put in freezer for 5-10 minutes. Remove ice cream from freezer and soften for 10 minutes. Remove cardboard casing and slice ice cream into 2-3” slices and place on top of chilled cookie crust. With back of spoon, smooth ice cream evenly over crust. Put plastic wrap on top and refreeze for about 1 hour. Spread Hershey’s chocolate fudge topping (or your favorite brand) on ice cream with the back of a spoon, until evenly distributed. Make sure topping is at room temperature before adding. Freeze until ready to serve. Cut into squares and add whipping cream and toasted almonds to each individual serving.
Notes: Just like mud pie! If there is a favorite dessert in this family, this is it! So easy and can be made ahead of time...our kids like this instead of cake for their birthdays.
