Salisbury Railex 2025 Part 1

The Salisbury & South Wilts Railway Society held its 2025 model railway exhibition over the weekend of 17th/18th May at a new venue, the Thruxton Centre at the Thruxton Racing circuit. Once again, an interesting few hours was spent watching and videoing the various layouts on display.

00:20 Blackmoor - 009 gauge. Representation of a station and small goods yard on the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway.
03:16 Ashgate (Ashover Light Railway) - 009 gauge. A mineral line with some passenger services.
06:09 Haydon Square E1 - 0 gauge. Small terminus station and goods depot in a grimy London East End location in early 1950s BR period.
11:34 Horsebridge Wharf - EM gauge. Fictitious Cornish small terminus station and goods yard in the 1930s.
16:12 Chitterne - EM gauge. Branch line station and goods yard situated on the edge of Salisbury Plain in the period between the wars.
19:11 Griswald - N gauge. Small Swiss lakeside town with an international line, branch lines and a tram line running through it.
22:00 Brian's Continental - N gauge. Traditional German town with a multi track through station.
23:44 Hounslow Sidings - 00 gauge. A cold & frosty day at these sidings situated in West London.
25:55 Golden Mile - N gauge; 2mm Finescale. A 'what might have been' short section of the Brentford branch near the Great West road.
26:48 A Really Useful Railway - 00 gauge. Thomas & Friends make an appearance.
