今年は、40,000本植栽されたコキアをご紹介しています。
コキアは、和名を「ほうき草」といい、昔はこの茎を乾燥させてほうきを作っていました。実は「とんぶり」とも呼ばれ食用になります。形や色、歯触りがキャビアに似ていることから「畑のキャビア」とも呼ばれ秋田県の名産となっています。
但し、ひたち海浜公園のコキアは観賞用となります。
2024年のみはらしの丘のコキアは、10月18日頃に「紅葉見頃」を迎えました。
見頃のピークは10月26日頃までとされています。

県内外から年間100万人以上の買い物客で賑わいます。
新鮮な魚介類が、手ごろな価格で販売されています。
また飲食店も多数軒を連ねており、旬のネタが楽しめます。

This year, we are introducing 40,000 kochia trees planted at Hitachi Seaside Park.
The Japanese name for kochia is ``broom grass,'' and in the past, the stems of kochia were dried to make brooms. The fruit is also called ``tonburi'' and is edible. Because its shape, color, and texture are similar to caviar, it is also called "field caviar" and is a specialty of Akita Prefecture.
However, the kochia at Hitachi Seaside Park is for ornamental purposes only.
In 2024, Kochia on Miharashi-no-Oka reached its "best time to see autumn leaves" around October 18th. The peak viewing time is said to be around October 26th.

Nakaminato Fish Market is crowded with more than 1 million shoppers a year from inside and outside the prefecture. Fresh seafood is sold at reasonable prices. There are also many restaurants, where you can enjoy seasonal ingredients.
