The Girl in the Fireplace, remains one of my favourite Murray Gold score’s from the revival era of Doctor Who. Unfortunately due to the lack of releases of the full scores to each episode it has never been complete. With the closest we ever got being 1 track on the Series 1 & 2 Soundtrack which unfortunately had been re-recorded with an orchestra rather than the original synths used for the episodes. I came into possession of these cues from the original episode after a bit of hunting and some arm twisting, now I present them them to you in a 10 minute suite.
Capturing the emotional beat of the episode with a much more vaudevillian scale to his music. This is one Murray Gold score that took a long time to be topped.
