This video is a companion to several previous presentations devoted to clarifying a number of confusions about the meaning of "yield" and one of that word’s primary connotations, "yield to maturity". This video focuses on debunking many of the widely wrongly attributed assumptions frequently ascribed to yield to maturity. The ultimate goal is to redirect those consequently led astray, away from interpreting yield to maturity as a measure of return, towards the value actually quantified by that interest rate – the current market value of a bond.
