Sony RX10 does twice the frame rate as all of the new cameras by using a high speed buffer. It can only do 36 seconds (then the buffer is full and it writes to SD card) but the results are spectacular. The camera will do only HD resolution at 240 frames per second. Note however that in my previously posted video the same clips were upscaled to 4K by ffmpeg. These clips are HD 1920x1080. The RX10 can also do 480 fps and 960 fps but the loss of quality is not acceptable.
Here I am shooting HFR mode (High Frame Rate) at 240 fps with Shutter Priority mode at 1/500 second, which is double the frame rate of the slow motion capture. Note that only Sony RX10, RX100 and ZV1 have this HFR mode with high speed buffer. The other NEW cameras like A6700 max out at 120 frames per second. The ZV1 and RX100 cannot zoom in on birds like I am demonstrating here. This makes Sony RX10 IV by far the best bridge camera, and probably the best ultralight birding camera. No accessories required but I highly recommend a Sirui L-10 tilt head and P-306 (AM-306) monopod.
