WE LOST OUR PASSPORTS & MONEY IN TOKYO. Exploring Yoyogi park and Akihabara. Shopping in Daiso.

So yes we lost our passports and money but more on that later.

Today was our day to explore different parts of Tokyo.

We started the day in Yoyogi park which is absolutely stunning, we would love to visit here in chewy blossom season. Our plan was just to see where the day took us so as we walked through Yoyogi park we realised we were near to Harajuku.

We called into ‪@UNIQLO‬ Uniqlo is exactly the same prices as in the UK but we picked up a few things for Matilda before heading to Daiso ‪@daiso‬.

All we can say is WOW. For those who don’t know Daiso is a 100yen shop (50p shop) we spent an absolute fortune in there, even buying some headphones for the plane home as Lufthansa ones weren’t great.

We then headed back to the hotel and called in at a restaurant in the station which Ant said is like a Japanese little chef. This place looks so plain but the food was great and the prices even better. We then headed to the hotel to do our packing.

After the packing we said we’d head out and look around Akihabara which is known as the electrical district and somewhere we’ve never been. This was the point where the panic set in.

Laura went to grab her bag only to realise she didn’t have it,the bag had all of our passports and money in it. We went through every case incase we’d packed it and then started to re track our steps. Having gone through the hotel with a forensic brush we tried the restaurant and fortunately a few hours later it was still where I’d left it. There was a family sat at the table who thought I was a bit crazy but smiled when they realised what I was doing. Can you imagine this being the case in the UK?

We then got the train to Akihabara, the best explanation I can think of for this area is it’s like the knock off/dodgy area of Tokyo. It did have huge BIC camera and other electrical shops but then streets full of used electronics and the weird and wonderful. We also picked up a really cheap suitcase from here. All I can think of is this is the area people mean when they say you can get cases for cheap in Japan.

We then headed back to the hotel to relax and rest.
