Is JSX an airline? I decided to delve into this question after looking at their website and seeing what seems to be a scheduled service with very "nice" airplanes (Embraer 135s and 145s) with only 30 seats each. How is this not a Part 121 air carrier? I found out through a little digging around! This video will help you understand the differences between Part 121 and Part 135 operators focusing at a high level at regulatory differences. Please note: this is NOT intended to be an attack on JSX or their model of operation. It is merely a springboard for discussion on the differences between the two sets of regulations and their implications.
