Today we're talking about how a violation of the expectation of privacy by the police in Katz v. United States, 389 U.S. 347 (1967) led to an illegal search and seizure, in violation of the Fourth Amendment. Katz's expectation of privacy, in shutting the door on the phone booth was both subjective and reasonable in light of society's standards, and that privacy violation resulted in his conviction being overturned.
