Nachiyar Thirumozhi Pasuram:
Slokam:
Enbu uruggi, ina vel nedung kaṇgaḷ
imai porunda pala nalum,
thunbakkadal pukku vaikundan enbadu or
thoṇi peṛadu uzhalgindren.....
Anbu udaiyaraip pirivu uṛu noyadu
niyum aṛidi kuyile....
pon purai menikku aruḷak, kodi udaip
puṇṇiyanai vara kuvay
( The verse captures Andal’s profound anguish in separation from Krishna. Though nature thrives around her, she is consumed by love-sickness, sleeplessness, and sorrow, feeling herself adrift in an ocean of suffering and unable to attain Vaikuntha. Knowing that Krishna alone is both the cause and cure of her pain, she appeals through the cuckoo for him to come and grant his grace, affirming that only reunion with the Lord can end her misery and restore her soul. )

In this song, Ambujam Krishna portrays the intense and unfulfilled love of a young maiden for Lord Krishna. Unable to reach Him directly, she sends her pet parrot as a messenger to convey her anguish that constant remembrance of Krishna has deprived her of food and sleep and left her yearning to hear his sweet words. Because her love is directed toward the divine, it remains unanswered, deepening her sorrow, yet the very act of sending the message offers her a sense of comfort and hope. Through this expression of viraha bhakthi, the composer reveals how separation intensifies devotion, causing the devotee to wither both physically and emotionally, and reflecting complete surrender and dependence on Krishna’s grace, with the faith that only his compassionate presence can bring relief and fulfillment.

Meaning:
O my dear parrot, please go to Kaṇṇan and convey to him the depth of love that I bear for him.
Tell him that I have lost my sleep thinking of him constantly, and that my heart is melting away like wax because of this longing.
Every single day, I think only of him and shed tears. O parrot, ask him why he does not think of me in return.
Tell him that on hearing the sweet, loving words of Amubhujaksha (Krishna), I am left burning with anguish, slowly withering away and losing the will to live.
